THE DOAGE TO PREVENT HEARTWORM. A ONCE MONTHLY DOSE AS FOLLOWS:
5 -10 kg 1/4 tablet (11 - 22 lbs)
11 -15kg ½ tablet (24 -33 lbs)
16 - 20 kg ¾ tablet (34 - 44 lbs)
21 -30 kg 1 tablet (45 - 67 lbs)

This medication contains invermectin and works by paralyzing and killing immature heartworms.
To treat skin parasites (eg mange, , fleas, ticks) - 0.15 mg (150 mcg) per pound or 0.3 mg (300 mcg per kilogram), once, then repeat in 14 days ie 1 tablet per 26lbs (13kg) body weight
To treat gastrointestinal parasites - 0.1 mg (100 mcg) per pound or 0.2 mg (200 mcg) per kilogram). give one time only. ie 1 tablet per 40lbs (20kg ) body weight.
OVERDOSING
· The dosage necessary to treat gastrointestinal or skin parasites can be up to 100 times higher than the dosage to treat heartworm, so it's critical to give your dog the appropriate amount for his health issue. At low levels, ivermectin is safe and side effects are rare. At higher levels, it can cause blindness and neurological problems. Watch your dog for dilated pupils and an unsteady gait, which can quickly progress to paralysis and death if not addressed immediately.
WARNINGS
· Collies, Australian shepherds and sheepdogs are genetically predisposed to side effects from certain drugs, including ivermectin. Although dosages for heartworm treatment are very low, be sure to follow your vet's instructions carefully to avoid overdosing your pet. This medication should not be administered with tranquilizers or flea and tick preventatives. This can cause sedation and other negative neurological effects.
